Three-Time NFL Flag National Champions!

The Virginia Hurricanes run competitive flag football teams for girls ages 8-15 that compete locally, regionally and nationally.  The Hurricanes have won three NFL Flag National Championships.

During the Spring and Summer, the Hurricanes offer flag football workouts and enter girls teams in tournaments.  During the Fall, the Hurricanes coach teams in the Arlington County NFL Flag Football League.  Hurricanes coaches have coached teams to numerous championships in the Arlington league.

In January 2021, the Virginia Hurricanes sent 10U, 12U, and 14U girls teams to compete in the NFL Flag Bowl in Florida.  The Hurricanes displayed a dominant performance, winning 15 games and losing just 2 games.  The 12U team won the National Championship(!), the 10U team advanced to the Championship game (losing that game by just 1 point), and the 14U team advanced to the semi-finals.

For six straight years, Hurricanes 14U teams won an NFL Flag Regional tournament and qualified to compete in the NFL Flag National Championship tournament at the NFL Pro Bowl.  At their six NFL Flag National Championship tournament appearances, the Hurricanes advanced to the title game five times and were crowned National Champions twice (2017 and 2020).

The 2020 National Championship game was broadcast on ESPN3 and can be viewed at the following link - 2020 National Championship Game (scroll to go to timestamp 1:17:00 of the video).

In 2018, the Hurricanes became the first NFL Flag program to coach two different girls teams to victories in separate NFL Flag Regional Tournaments (in Pennsylvania and New Jersey) in the same year and have two girls teams compete at the same NFL Flag National Championship tournament.
